Stay connected to God. (John. 15: 1 – 14)
Points

As time goes by, things happen every day and they are simply not palatable. News of disaster here and there which is a confirmation that the world is coming to an end.

God remains the only good news we can listen to and as such we can’t but stay connected to Him

This message will make us understand that it is only those who stayed connected to God that will stay forever.

Benefits of staying connected to God

1.      God defends His own. (Ps. 91: 1-16)
Those who are connected to God are sure of protection because he is the only one that can assure you of perfect protection.

God’s word assures us that He will take god care of us, He will always defend us irrespective of what the enemies of our life does.

Ballam erected an altar to curse the people of God (Israelites). But that same altar was turned to a venue where his people will be blessed. (Numb. 23)

But the most important thing is that we stay should stay connected to God.

We should also be aware that even when we don’t know it, God will always fight for us.

2.     God is faithful. (Numbers. 23: 19, 2thess. 3:3)
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from falling

3.     Only God can take you home (Jude. 24)
Its only God that can keep you faultless and can make you appear before his throne without guilt. You can’t do it when you are not connected to Him.

4.     Fruitfulness is guaranteed (John. 15: 5)
With reference to the text of the message, it is only God that can make you fruitful and successful in life. He gives you creative ideas to survive even when the economy is not encouraging.

How can we stay connected to God
1.      Believe God. (Heb. 11:6)
It is important you believe the existence of God, His power and that He rewards those who diligently seek him.

2.     Align your plans with him (Amos. 3: 1-3)
Your plans must be aligned with God’s plan if you must stay connected to God

3.     Communicate with Him regularly
Commune with Him in prayer and quality worship, because when you are not in tune with God, then there is an issue.

4.     Keep His commandment (John. 15: 10,14)
You can’t keep God’s commandment without knowing His commandments.

5.     Keep away from Sin (Numb. 23: 21)
The farther you are from sin, the closer we are to God. God helps those who do all they can and possible to live right by making them clean again and again.

6.     Stay resolute.
Come what may, we have to stay firm. There will be times of trials and challenges, but His grace is sufficient.

Irrespective of what comes your way, because there will be times of difficulty and stress. You must be ready for anything that comes.

Paul said NOTHING can separate him from the love of Christ. (Rom. 8: 35-39)

This should be our decision and confession at all times, because in all that happens we are more than conqueror through Christ our saviour.

Living a Valuable Life

Living a Valuable Life
Preacher: Rev. Gbenga Olowosoyo

Act 9:37- 41

9:37: And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. 9:38: And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. 9:39: Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. 9:40: But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. 9:41: And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

- The reason they invited Peter was because they wanted him to restore the woman

- If you don't live a valuable life you are not fit for existence

- you must always be ready to receive from God

- There are five reasons you can do to make your life valuable on earth

1. To worship God and live for Him.: Worship is not just singing or coming into church, your existence should worship God, your way of life, you thought pattern, your reasoning.

2. You are born into the family of God i.e. Church. You must always dwell in the midst of God's people. You are alive to be in fellowship

3. You are raised to be like Him. So you can show to the world what it is to be a child of God

4. You are wired for service. This means you are here to impact lives. You are a carrier of God's power, to open doors for men into their freedom, you are so wired such that you can bring about a great change in your world. Stop waiting to be released start releasing others. You have the capacity inside of you. That's how you were made. Stop limiting yourself, are you actually limiting yourself? Then stop realize today that you are the great you the world expect to see through the power of God that works in you.

- Listen! What exactly would people remember you for, you can start a school, you can give to the less privileged.

- God will challenge your grace, believe God to show you who you will bless. The more you do the better it is the more you get.

- Agree with God to use you beyond your own imagination, because the world is eating for you.

- Let your life produce result. There is something you have.

- Your relationship with people around you is also important, let your life show forth God's grace to people around as well. Who knows if your act of goodness to someone in your neighbourhood will lead such and his/her family to Jesus Christ.

Walking in God’s Covenant

Excerpts from the Message.

Topic
Walking in God’s Covenant  (Heb. 8:6-31)
Points
·               Covenant is an agreement between two people and in our case is between God and Us
·               If it is a covenant, it must be obeyed otherwise it will lead to punishment
·               There is the old and new covenant, the old is obsolete and gone, but we are under the new covenant
·               Becoming a Christian has put us under a covenant, but are we sure to know what covenant we operate on.
·             Note that covenant is entered into, you don’t just assume it, or hear it. 2Chr. 15:9 – 15

·             Also note that covenant is made by sacrifice, not just by mouth.

Gen.12:1 – 3 (Things that will happen when you are under the covenant)
Gen 12:1-3  Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:  (2)  And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:  (3)  And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

What do I need to do to be under the Covenant and
·             When you give your life to God, you become one of the people that are under God’s covenant
·             Make your life a total sacrifice to God, a living sacrifice in deed (Rom.12:1)
·             Exercise yourself unto Godliness
·             Adapt yourself unto the covenant.

What do I enjoy
·                God will make you when you are under his covenant
·                God will bless you
·                God will make your name great
·                God will make you a blessing eventually
·                God will bless those that blesses you
·                God will Curse those that curses you
·                All families of the earth will be blessed by you

Be Rest Assured Under God’s Covenant
Once you know what the covenant does, you should be rest assured on them, be happy, claim them for your life and forever you will be blessed and enjoy the blessing off the covenant.

From now on as you trust God for His covenant, you will continue to enjoy un-hidden goodness and mercy of God; people around you will be a witness to the greatness of God in your life.
